Great Friends

My two best friends, Mandy and Jessica, and their brother's wife, Ashli, came down from Cincinnati on Saturday and threw me a mini shower. They are the best friends ever! It was so great to be able to spend the evening with them! Nobody else that was invited came to the shower, which kinda made me depressed, but I soon to realize that I just being able to have the evening alone with with my friends was SO much better!
Ashli did a great job with all the food!!! She's a domestic goddess and has the cutest little 5 month old, Lil John. He's such a good baby! I hope he's feeling better now Ashli...

Before the shower, we had planned on giving Max his gift from Aspen. We gave him a real big boy bike because he was going to be a big brother. He LOVED it!
Waiting for Curt to bring in his "Big Brother" gift.

Probably no one came because it's your second kid, lol. After the first, no one gives you lavish gifts cause they figure you still have it from the first one. But I think that's unfortunate. I still want to celebrate this little life coming into the world.

And actually, I'm glad no one else came, lol. It was much more relaxing and informal. We had some interesting conversations that we probably wouldn't have had with other people there. Mandy said on the way home that IF she ever had a baby, she wanted a small, intimate shower just like yours. It was perfect...I'm glad we did it. Can't wait to see little Aspen! And for your pregnancy misery to be over.

I thought it was awesome too! Don't worry...it's really not all that hard to be a "domestic goddess". Of course I've been working on it since I was 11 so that's 10 years now. Lil' John still isn't feeling well though. Hopefully none of you got it.
